Strongs Falabella Miniature Horses

Welcome To The

Haldimand County Miniature Horse 4H Club

4-H Clover
Our Club was started in 2006 and continues to grow.

  4H Pledge
My Head to clearer thinking
My Heart to greater loyalty
My Hands to larger service
My Health to better living
For my club, my community and my country.

4H motto is “Learn to do by Doing”

4H is available to youth ages 10 (as of January 1st) to 21 years old.

Objective:  To educate the members and provide “hands on” experience on how to completely care for a miniature horse, if they should desire to own one in the future.

Our club has two sessions per year, one in the spring related to horse care and one during the summer which prepares the members to exhibit horses at the local Fall Fairs and participate in our local Achievement Day held at Caledonia Fair.

Members receive a credit for each session completed.  Credits accumulate towards 4H awards and members are eligible for post secondary scholarships.

Topics: Safety and horse handling, Anatomy, First Aid, Parasites and Management, Diseases and Vaccinations, Feeding and Nutrition, Hoof Care, Show Grooming and Showmanship.  Members get “hands on” experience at each meeting.

Members are given the opportunity to show in the Colour Classes, Youth Showmanship, Costume, and will be participating in Halter Obstacle and Youth Driving in the future.  We also plan to participate in local parades and other community events as our club grows.

But most of all……………We Have FUN.
