I bought this camera new in 1995 for my oldest son to use at photography class in school. My first quality camera was a Pentax Spotmatic F, so I knew he wouldn't go wrong with this camera.
I have a Pentax SP1000
with a matching 50mm lens that I use for making stereo pairs.
